Some People Will Hate You for Breathing. Do the Thing Anyway.
Any time you feel yourself holding back…
Any time you second-guess posting that thing, sharing that idea, launching that offer, or speaking your truth because you’re worried about what someone might think or say…
Pause.
Go to YouTube.
Type in:
“Celebrities Read Mean Tweets.”
Watch for five minutes.
Then realize something important:
Some people will hate on anything.
Tom Hanks gets called boring.
Zendaya gets roasted for being “too perfect.”
Ryan Reynolds gets called ugly. Ryan freakin’ Reynolds.
And what do all these people have in common?
They’re successful. Respected. Talented.
But it doesn’t matter. They still get dragged.
That’s when it hits you:
It was never about you.
It’s about them.
Their projection.
Their pain.
Their boredom.
Their need to throw stones from the sidelines instead of building something of their own.
You could post something heartfelt, meaningful, honest and someone will still twist it.
You could put years of work into your craft and someone will dismiss it in seconds.
That’s just how it goes.
But here’s the truth:
Haters don’t build empires.
Creators do.
You weren’t given your gifts, your calling, your ideas just to sit on them and hope nobody gets offended.
You were given them to move people.
To light something up in the world that wasn’t there before you.
So if you’re feeling the fear?
That’s normal.
Feel it.
But don’t bow to it.
The people who laugh the loudest usually have the least to show.
The critics are loudest from the cheap seats.
Meanwhile, the ones in the arena, the builders, the doers, the dreamers… well, they’re too busy creating to throw stones.
So here’s your reminder:
Do the thing.
Say the words.
Launch the idea.
Be you. Fully.
The world doesn’t need another watered-down version of someone else.
It needs you.
Unfiltered.
On purpose.
All in.
Let them talk.
You’ve got work to do.
