Have you ever noticed a shift in how much you seem to care about things that used to matter a lot?
Lately, I’ve been observing a growing sense of detachment in myself – whether it’s goodbyes, check-ins, or just the natural ebb and flow of conversations.
It’s not a huge problem, but it is a curious change from how I used to be.
I’m not sure of the root cause. Maybe it’s a result of all the upheaval and major life changes I’ve been through over the past couple years.
Or perhaps it’s just a natural evolution.
But it’s interesting to notice this difference in degree of my emotional investment.
In some ways, this detachment feels freeing. It also makes me wonder about the balance between being too attached versus too aloof and I find myself asking, “How do you find that middle ground of caring enough, without getting overly invested?”
It’s an interesting question to explore.
I am curious to hear if any of you have experienced something similar – a shift in how much you seem to “need/desire” from your relationships and interactions.
Is it a sign of growth, or something else entirely?
I’m still trying to make sense of it myself.
